Guide to Formal Dresses for the Nursing or Pregnant Mom + A Link-Up

December 28, 2016

Are you a nursing mama? Maybe you're expecting? Then this post is for you! I had THE hardest time finding a cute (aka non-frumpy) formal dress for the few weddings and other events I've been to recently! I have totally been wanting to share these finds for a while! This sequin dress is absolutely divine and comes in three colors. I think you'll like the other options I've linked below too because not everyone is big on full body sequins, haha.
NURSING: ACCESSIBILITY IS KEY
When choosing a dress or any outfit for nursing, the key is accessibility. I've learned that you really have to get creative if you're opting for something that's non-maternity specific (which I try to do). If you have straps, you can easily pull them down, of if there's a plunge neckline you can just whip your boob out through the middle. I've honestly done it all. My favorite is the strapless because you just pul it down!

PREGNANCY: WAISTLINE IS EVERYTHING
If you're pregnant - you can definitely find dresses that are non-maternity, it's all about the waistline! It must hit right above your boobs so there's room for baby or you can opt for a body-con dress if you're brave! It's the one time you get to confidently show off that belly bump! Pregnant bodies are simply beautiful; embrace them!

MY OUTFIT: Pink Blush dress c/o (comes in 3 colors)

Mommy & Me Style Ideas

March 27, 2016

Hi beautiful friends! Happy Monday! I'm super excited to share some cute ideas for 'Mommy & Me' styles! Believe it or not, with Easter over, Mother's Day is coming up sooner than we think, and it may be time for a sweet 'Mommy & Me' photoshoot to celebrate!

I love matching with my little daughter, and I personally think that mamas matching with their sons is the cutest thing ever as well! I have two outfits to share with you (one of them you've seen before here) where I match with Gracie!

The first is a super cute grey tee from The Blue Envelope that says 'Mama' and Gracie has a little ragland tee that says 'Love' on it! We both have red accents that help tie the outfits together, and let me just say that a boy could EASILY style this outfit! (That's why I had Grace wear her cute, little denim jeggings, so I could show you that any mama can easily match with their little boy!

The second outfit is from a previous post, but it's just too good not to share twice! (See the original post here), the pink and flowy maxi skirt is from Ruby Claire Boutique, and the top is from Loved by Hannah & Eli.

In both posts, I have on my amazing Far More Than Rubies mama metal necklace that I've seriously been wearing nonstop. Grace loves playing with the little rings, and is super soothed when the rings make a soft jingle when she's nursing.

Grace's Outfit 1: 'Love' Ragland tee (similar) c/o | Baby denim | Target shoes (similar on sale for $5)

Grace's Outfit 2: Loved By Hannah & Eli 'Baby Bear' onesie c/o | Target tutu (love this $5 one) | Trumpette socks c/o

Hi beautiful ladies! We're back this week for #Spotlight Weekly styling stripes! Stripes are such a staple in my closet - I feel like when in doubt I gravitate towards anything striped because it' s basically a neutral to me! This drapey striped top is not only super comfortable, but also has a cute hem that veers from the traditional tee.

Enough about stripes, though. Let's talk about my tan booties! They're TOMS, which surprised me majorly but they are pretty much perfect, and I plan on wearing them like three times a week if not more! These suede babies are sooo comfortable, and I can even babywear with them on. Mom friendly, yet stylish shoes are a tough thing to find these days, but these ones definitely fit the bill!

Spotlight Weekly Link Up | White Out

February 24, 2016

Hi lovelies! Thanks for visiting Spotlight Weekly! I am super excited about this striped top - it's light, airy and perfect for summer! I already styled it with jean shorts (yes it's that warm) this past weekend, and I'm IN love. I may need another in this exact print! At under $15, it's a total steal.

I paired it with white denim, obviously! [Insert spiel about Target denim here] I am obsessed with their pants now and own them in every wash and color! Once again, you can't beat the price.

To dress up this look, I added these Hush Puppies mules. I have a feeling I'll be wearing them alllll Spring and Summer, because, look at them - they are adorable! They are super comfy, and neutral so they will look amazing with shorts, pants, skirts, and dresses! If you haven't tried mules, I definitely recommend you do! I could actually walk in these haha.

The lovely Jacqueline and I post our link-ups every Thursday! This week our theme is white out outfits or you can pick any fashion/beauty related post to link up! Come back weekly to visit us!

Lily Jade & ZaZa Couture

February 15, 2016

Hi loves! Thanks for visiting the blog today! I won't lie, I love a good 'basics' outfit, but this one is one of my favorites lately, because it has a unique twist, and some color! This pink skirt is so light, airy (for our 80 degree weather), and comfortable! I paired it with a total staple in my closet, the polka dot button-up! And of course a cute, furry, black vest from Pour la Femme, a line from ZaZa Couture!

Make you sure you check out my amazing Lily Jade diaper bag and Uppababy stroller too - I've linked them above - in case you haven't noticed, I'm all about the baby gear these days ;) I do try my best to keep things fashion-focused. If your'e still here for the fashion, thanks so much for sticking around/reading! If you are new around here from a babywearing group or a new mama, then welcome!

Pretty Pink

February 09, 2016

Hi loves! Today I'm sharing a Valentine's Day inspired (casual) outfit. I just adore the fit and color of this sweater. It's so bright and vibrant and instantly cheers up my day! Besides, I love when my clothing matches my favorite NARS lip shade.

Oh, and see that gorgeous black bag? Believe it or not, that's a diaper bag! This Lily Jade bag has like 15+ pockets and comes with a handy baby organizer piece that can be used in other bags too! I love that it converts to a backpack. You'll be seeing this piece looooots more in the months to come!

Also, I'm pretty much a walking billboard for these Target jeans. They are my favorite thing ever and I feel like I am always wearing them. I own this specific fit of Target denim in like 4-5 different washes, and white being one of them! White is a staple for summer + winter, in my opinion!

Lastly, I am sharing the band part of the Summer Infant Babble Band! It's an audio baby monitor that you hang in your little one's room, and it allows you to hear your baby on the little band on your wrist while working in or around your house! Super cool, right? What will they come up with next?! I'll be giving one of these away on my Instagram later tonight, so stay tuned!
