Mom & Baby Valentine’s Gift Guide

January 31, 2017

FROM TOP TO BOTTOM:

It's no secret - I'm a fan of all things hearts. Therefore, Valentine's Day is extra special, in my book! I've put together a Valentine's Day Gift Guide for Mom and Baby. These items are sure to wow you with their practicality, colorful vibes, and chic monochrome tones. I personally own several and plan to utilize them to spread the Valentine's Day cheer!

I started with sharing two of my favorite carriers from Baby Tula. One of them is 'Love Sucre', a wrap conversion carrier, and the other is 'Wild Hearts' a fully printed canvas! These make great, and long-lasting gifts and come with baby snuggles and sleepy dust! Along with the adorable carriers I included a darling sweetheart headband from Little Lilla Boutique, and an adorable white and gold heart mug for all of that mom fuel that's needed!

All mamas need a stylish and functional (and heart-printed) bag, right? A Tula Torba helps stylishly store all of the gear moms (and babies) need, and some chic heart-shaped sunglasses! Lastly, a gift guide isn't complete without some snuggly blanket options. I mean who doesn't love a soft and cozy Tula blanket? Speaking of feeling snuggly...wouldn't it be nice if the Tula blankets came in adult sizes? A little birdie may have told me about a special surprise coming soon! Be sure follow Baby Tula on Facebook for updates on that special surprise. ;)

Just in case you still aren't sure what to buy your loved ones for Valentine's Day, don't forget that a Tula gift card is always the right answer! I hope you enjoyed this list of items, and hope you have a blast shopping for those special loved ones in your life.

Holiday Gift Guide 2016 | Personalized Gifts For The Family + VIDEO

December 13, 2016

*Thanks to Pinhole Press for sponsoring today's post!
The best gifts are ones that you put lots of thought into! I am delighted to partner with Pinhole Press to bring you a holiday gift guide featuring personalized gifts for the whole family! You may remember the post I did earlier this year with several framed prints from Pinhole Press! I created a whole gallery wall of photos, you can see the post here. I hope you enjoy this gift guide!

In the video I mention several products. Here are some of my favorites below. Seriously, these make the best gifts for your aunts, uncles, grandparents, parents, and siblings!

The Brag Book ($24.99)
This nostalgic piece makes a great gift for grandparents (and great grandparents) who may not carry a smart phone or just love the good 'ol days where you can whip open a little book of your kids' pictures! (Watch my YouTube video above or click here to see it in action!)

This is a great gift option for aunts, uncles, or your co-parent! All of your (or your family's) co-workers and friends can admire your photos through this subtle and adorable photo calendar! (Watch my YouTube video above or click here to see it in action!)

As a former teacher, I am all about education. With this game your child is learning name and face recognition, but also practicing their motor skills and learning their colors! This is definitely one of my favorites this year and I can't wait to give it to G! (Watch my YouTube video above or click here to see it in action!)

Fathers everywhere adore things like this! I don't know about you, but my husband loves to feel included! We have a Mommy & Me board book that G adores so when he finds out he and Grace get to open and read this Daddy & Me book for Christmas he is going to be elated! There are spaces for photos and a small description on each page! (Watch my YouTube video above or click here to see it in action!)

Have your partner design this for you so that you can read it with your babe. I have three of these books because I love being able to document G and I's adventures. We read them almost every night, and someday when she is older she can read them to me! You can also make a Book of Names and Faces for family member recognition! We have one and it has really helped G recognize the family members that she doesn't see on a regular basis! (Watch my YouTube video above or click here to see it in action!)
Lastly, we did our holiday cards though Pinhole Press and loved them, so be sure to check out their holiday card selection! We went with the gallery style premium ultra thick paper, and I must say I am very impressed! (Watch my YouTube video above or click here to see it in action!)
Christmas is coming up fast so, if you plan to, be sure to place your order asap to get them in time to wrap and put under the tree!

DIY Wintery Mason Jar Gift Card Holder + VIDEO TUTORIAL

December 11, 2016

*Thank you Gift Card Mall for inspiring and sponsoring today's DIY post.
Once upon a time, I wasn't a crafty person. I still don't think I am the craftiest of them all but I'm getting better as the "mom" in me develops! I had a super fun idea after perusing the dollar spot at one of my favorite retailers! These mini flocked Christmas trees sparked something in me that yearned to be creative with my gifting this year.

Gift cards like the Visa Style Everywhere and other Visa gift cards are becoming more common as people do love picking out their own gifts, but that doesn't mean we have to sacrifice the fun of wrapping up a gift for our loved ones! Keep reading for directions and a quick, minute-long video tutorial on how to make these wintery mason jar gift card holders.
The VISA gift cards are sold at retailers like Vons, Albertons, Safeway and Kroger. They are a great option for a loved one, family friend, or even a teacher you want to spoil for the holidays! Gift your son's teacher with a Visa Fuel Everywhere card or the Visa Explore Everywhere card for them to use over their holiday vacation!

I plan to gift my husband the Visa Movies Everywhere gift card as a stocking stuffer because he is obsessed with movies, and it gives us an excuse to go on a date! The Visa Dining Everywhere card is a great gift option for family members who you see each year but aren't super close to, like aunts and uncles or family friends - everyone has to eat right?! Lastly, I'm totally secretly hoping that "Santa" gives me the Visa Home Everywhere gift card because I am obsessed with decorating our home and my budget could use some boosting, ha!
DIY WINTERY MASON JAR GIFT CARD HOLDER CRAFT:

This craft is SO simple and fun to do! You could totally do this during a Pinterest party of for a fun craft and wine night with girlfriends! Aside from the mason jars being glass, kids can totally complete this project with you too, with supervision of course!

Many of these supplies were things I already had on hand like cotton balls, old gift bags, and the tags! I even used mason jars that had been sitting around, so feel free to get creative with what/how you use them! The trees were fairly inexpensive but I love how nice they look next to the fluffy cotton ball snow!

See video below!

I would love to know who you decide to make these for! If you do try them out post on Instagram with #LivinginColorDIY so I can comment on it and "like" it :)

Fun For The Family | Holiday Shopping For Youth Sports At DICK'S + Giveaway

December 04, 2016

I am thrilled to be partnering with DICK'S Sporting Goods to share my experience shopping for Christmas gifts! I actually knew I wanted to get G something sporty for the holidays because she is a majorly athletic child. Tons of energy equals a need for output. We spend lots of time at the park running around, so I wanted to pick out a soccer ball to play with on park trips and a few other gifts for her and my husband.
This may come as a surprise to you, but I've never been in a DICK'S location before so I had no clue what to expect. I was definitely impressed by the size of the store. The first thing G noticed was the ball in the logo of course, haha. So, when I walked in there were tons of products and TWO floors of stuff. I expected to see things like baseball bats, soccer balls, and other typical sports-related items, but was SO surprised to see so many great women's apparel brands. DICK'S just struck me as a guys store all the way, but I sort of got lost in there!
Aside from the wide selection of apparel (I'm talking anything from trendy sports bras to cute athleisure stuff) there was a sea of stylish shoes! I put like three pair on my wish list, not going to lie.
We saw so many great products, but G's favorite, by far were the bikes! I can't wait until she's old enough to ride one! Some gifts that I noticed that were super unexpected were things like:

-Apple watches
-GoPro's and accessories
-Headphones
-Really great camping gear
-Fitbits
-tons of kids athletic clothing

I legit felt like I was hanging out at a tech store for a second! I love that DICK'S offered such a variety of products. There are gifts there for him, for her, for the nerdy techie, for the adventurer, and for kids! We ended up finding G a pink soccer ball - she's pretty into it and held it the whole ride home + to and from the grocery store later that day! I can't wait to take it with us to the park later this week.
I also bought G a little bicycle with a matching helmet for only $64! Not bad at all, and she will grow into it. As for my husband, I bought him some fan gear because sports are only, you know HIS LIFE. Haha, no really though, he likes his sports teams a lot. What do you think you'd buy for your family from DICK'S?
Something I noticed throughout the store (other than the super cute holiday wreaths and bows) was the signage spreading awareness about the #SportsMatter campaign. You can read about it more in the graphics below but basically they are focused on saving youth sports because there are so many youth programs that are losing funding. When you purchase your items you can donate a small amount and switch out your shoe laces if you sport tennis shoes to raise awareness for youth sports!

As a former teacher, I'm an avid believer in exercise for all youth. It helps their brain learn more if they can get physical stimulation too! DICK'S is also donating money to DonorsChoose.org a site that I am very familiar with, as I used it in the past to raise money for funding in my classroom. DICK'S will match funding for public and charter schools for an amount up to 1.5 million! That's amazing. You're shopping for a cause this holiday season. Click HERE to learn more.

Holiday Gift Guide 2016 | Gifts For Her

December 01, 2016

*I have been compensated by various brands for including them in this wonderful post! Thank you for supporting the companies that support my work, and allow me to bring you this content each week! <3
Today I am sharing a few cute, affordable, and easy gift ideas for a lady! Women can be difficult to shop for, especially because we are complex humans with lots of different tastes and preferences. So I've put together an array of options depending on the type of woman that you're shopping for! It can't be that difficult now, right? Just narrow down the options from this list, and voilĂ ... you're done shopping!

THE GIFT GUIDE:
You can't beat a cozy pair of PJ's!

Not all women would love this gift, but if you're someone who cooks or bakes often like me, this is a total want/need! You can get so many different uses out of a device like this!

These are so soft and cozy!

The ultimate cold weather piece that's super easy on the wallet! Perfect gift for a friend.

I'm a sucker for personalized gifts, so Taudrey gets me in all the feels. I love this bangle set, but I have lots of cute necklaces and rings from them too! Explore their site, because there's lots of great items!

Give the gift of chic with this amazing beanie!

Honestly, the best gift is the gift of subscription boxes. Endless eyewear through DITTO for just $34 a month is the BEST gift you can give a lady! She gets to try out all of the sunnies her little heart desires.

This is for the spiritual woman. The specific rocks are hand-picked by the gift-giver. They have collections for the mother, and for friendship, or to just say "thank you" :) I love this idea because it's a small and subtle way to say you're thinking of that person without spending a ton, and it's so meaningful!

This calorie-free, caffeinated, premium, whole leaf black tea goes perfectly with this on-the-go tea infuser! I have tons of friends that don't drink coffee and prefer tea, so I may consider this as a gift for them! Especially since, paired together, it's an amazing deal of under $40.

The fashionista woman can't get over a good deal! These Stuart Weitzman knock-offs have me swooning. I may or may not own them in two colors!
