Fun For The Family | Holiday Shopping For Youth Sports At DICK'S + Giveaway

I am thrilled to be partnering with DICK'S Sporting Goods to share my experience shopping for Christmas gifts! I actually knew I wanted to get G something sporty for the holidays because she is a majorly athletic child. Tons of energy equals a need for output. We spend lots of time at the park running around, so I wanted to pick out a soccer ball to play with on park trips and a few other gifts for her and my husband.

This may come as a surprise to you, but I've never been in a DICK'S location before so I had no clue what to expect. I was definitely impressed by the size of the store. The first thing G noticed was the ball in the logo of course, haha. So, when I walked in there were tons of products and TWO floors of stuff. I expected to see things like baseball bats, soccer balls, and other typical sports-related items, but was SO surprised to see so many great women's apparel brands. DICK'S just struck me as a guys store all the way, but I sort of got lost in there!

Aside from the wide selection of apparel (I'm talking anything from trendy sports bras to cute athleisure stuff) there was a sea of stylish shoes! I put like three pair on my wish list, not going to lie.

 We saw so many great products, but G's favorite, by far were the bikes! I can't wait until she's old enough to ride one! Some gifts that I noticed that were super unexpected were things like:

-Apple watches
-GoPro's and accessories
-Headphones
-Really great camping gear
-Fitbits
-tons of kids athletic clothing

I legit felt like I was hanging out at a tech store for a second! I love that DICK'S offered such a variety of products. There are gifts there for him, for her, for the nerdy techie, for the adventurer, and for kids! We ended up finding G a pink soccer ball - she's pretty into it and held it the whole ride home + to and from the grocery store later that day! I can't wait to take it with us to the park later this week.

I also bought G a little bicycle with a matching helmet for only $64! Not bad at all, and she will grow into it. As for my husband, I bought him some fan gear because sports are only, you know HIS LIFE. Haha, no really though, he likes his sports teams a lot. Something I noticed throughout the store (other than the super cute holiday wreaths and bows) was the signage spreading awareness about the #SportsMatter campaign. You can read about it more in the graphics below but basically they are focused on saving youth sports because there are so many youth programs that are losing funding. When you purchase your items you can donate a small amount and switch out your shoe laces if you sport tennis shoes to raise awareness for youth sports! 

As a former teacher, I'm an avid believer in exercise for all youth. It helps their brain learn more if they can get physical stimulation too! DICK'S is also donating money to DonorsChoose.org a site that I am very familiar with, as I used it in the past to raise money for funding in my classroom.
